Lot's of discussion around the 'Net about whether this is a good thing, or not. Most of the scuttlebutt seems to center around the higher security settings that "break" some in-house applications. Most notably, IBM has put a hold on installing it, they seem to be "having difficulties", as they so politely put it.

Most other dissenters are just miffed because it changes some of their personal settings, or it requires the presences of something they removed, or whatever small-minded peeve is their personal hangup of the day.

Like Arne says, most forum posters and bloggers are happy with it. I'd say, if it's on Microsoft's site, and you aren't running mission-critical apps, then go for it. (If that site is busy/too slow, then search around for others - the d/l has been mirrored in many places all over the world.)

I read on UniteTheCows that some P2P applications might have trouble with it because it limits the connections to 10. Here is the article about it. I just finished downloading it this morning (I'm still on dial-up), but I dont think I'm going to install it just yet.

Performed a full,clean install three days ago,and found it still breaks Norman's firewall-just like all the betas.
However,one thing the beta release clients did not do was bust the defragmenter-service pack 2 managed this.

Don't see much in it to make it worthy of downloading. My security settings are beyond what it is offering.

Step DOWN from my own modifications to SP2? I think not.

I'm thinking of switching to Firefox anyway, and I doubt SP2 is going to be friendly without IE

Besides, my next OS is going to be a *nix box

Norman offers a degree of application control, but Tiny Firewall is more comprehensive and allows incredible control over your entire pc.(XP,win2000) Shorewall operates at the Network layer, TF operates over several layers like the application layer which is a higher layer. TF is distributed through the US but I believe it's coders are in Europe.

If you're happy with your security then that's all that matters.

Broke down and installed it on 3 of our pc's. Installs very well and you can turn off all the security stuff. No problems with anything at all so far.
