Here are some linkz to a couple of chat-ware proggies that I think You might want to check out.
"Click Here" and for the "Encryption Plugin" "Click Here" This chatware can be setup to run yahoo, ICQ, IRC, AIM and other chat ware programs. "Chatting" is only "encrypted" however if the other people have this proggie and the encryption Plugin that goes with it. It does tell You if the other person is using it and it automatically "encrypts" the conversation.
Here is a chat program that is like an encrypted yahoo messenger. However You must register to use it and login in to the Network. But it is Free registration. "Click Here"
Here is a proggie that I've used for several years. It's P2P, no server to log anything, and it creates a different "encryption Key" everytime You start it up, and creates an "encrypted tunnel between Your Machine and Your Chat buddie's machine. "Click Here"
