Can't Find Henk's ProxoPatcher
This address for the Henk's ProxoPatcher is no good:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~vsetten/prox/ Is there another download address? Is the latest version 4.0? |

RE: Can't Find Henk's ProxoPatcher
the "last" version is 4.0 (March 2005) [attached from my archives]...
to the best of my knowledge, "Henk" no longer updates his GUI patch... have you tried this one - http://www.mizzmona.com/proxomitron/gui/ (June 2007) it's the GUI patch i've been using (mod'd slightly to my own preferences), highly impressed with... |

ProxRocks:
Thanks for the file. I was wondering if it's OK for me to distribute this like as an attachment in a post on some forum. [Edit: Answered this question by reading the ReadMe; It is OK] Yes, I have tried mizzmona's and probably should use it but for the moment I still like Henk's. |

RE: Can't Find Henk's ProxoPatcher
i'm not 100% sure on that, to be honest...
the way i see it, so long as the readme stays with it, that the post indicates the URL it originally came from ( http://www.xs4all.nl/~vsetten/prox/ ), that credit is given to Henk, and all that "jazz", i see no reason you can't... but that's just me "thinking out loud", so to speak... |

Quoting the ReadMe: "There is one part of this agreement that everyone should really keep in mind: it means that you can use the patcher to update your Proxomitron file, but that you can NOT give such patched Proxomitron to other people or offer such patched files for download on the Web (which for one thing might result in a confusing situation where no longer is clear who is responsible for what part of the file's contents). So instead you should give others a copy of the **original** Proxomitron file, and if they want it, a separate copy of the patcher so they can update their Proxomitron file themselves." Probably should have read it before I posted. Thanks again. |

RE: Can't Find Henk's ProxoPatcher
i'm reading that to say that you CAN give the "patcher" but that you can NOT patch your Proxo and give the "patched" Proxo...
ie, you can redistribute the patcher... but you can NOT redistribute a "patched Proxo"... is that how you are reading it as well? |

I'm reading it as saying that both the patcher and the original unpatched proxomitron may be freely distributed by anyone but you may not distribute a patched proxomitron. Everyone must individually patch his own proxomitron. I could be wrong and will certainly defer to those who have experience with software licensing. I'm just a user who should have sent a thank-you note to Scott; that was how pleased I was with the program. |

RE: Can't Find Henk's ProxoPatcher
I've uploaded Henk's GUI Patch (under the Patches folder, versions 3.6 and 4.0; personally, I'm using 3.6.):
http://prxbx.com/download/ Note that on my plans for PrxBx is a download section. Previously we had a paFileDB download system, but because of its security weaknesses, I've resorted to a simple (yet hopefully effective) directory listing script. |
