Prox fails to load certain webpages, sometimes.

Prox fails to load certain webpages, sometimes.
Using prox with sidki set, some website pages do not load unless I reload them a few times. ("Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage") I use Win7-64/IE9. It is an occasional thing only on certain websites, but it is annoying.

If I watch the prox "log connections" window, exactly 3 attempts are made on the URL and they are all immediately "+++CLOSE"ed. If I configure HTTP->Send only HTTP/1.0 connections" it seems to work better.

I notice in the "log connections" there is a "Connection: keep-alive" line, but when I use wireshark to watch these, no such line is really sent. Why is proxomitron lying to me? Smile!

I don't seem to have this problem when using Firefox through prox with the same setup, nor with IE9 without Prox as the proxy. Any hints on what could be going on? Is it specific to a certain type of web server software not liking how prox communicates? I don't think I want to always "send only Http/1.0" with all websites (but the "GET lines still show 1.1 in prox log connections" anyway... strange)

I don't remember seeing this problem but I rarely use IE9.
Under Tools>Internet Options>Advanced, have you enabled "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections"?

The site mentioned in your post loads but is not working correctly at the moment.

Old story.
Short answer, IIRC for HTTP 1.1, header in log window is sent when "Local connections persist for" is disabled but not when option is enabled. Keep-alive is implied in HTTP 1.1, so header should not be needed.

Yes that option was already checked.

I had "Local connections persist for" checked. Now I don't know if it should have been or not.

I can't reliably cause a failure to load, it just happens sometimes, but pressing Reload (might take a few tries) gets the page loading.

I usually have it checked. In the past, I have disabled it when the Proxomitron was socksified by freecap and forwarding to Tor. In that situation, more concurrent connections were made with "Local connections persist for" unchecked.

I suspect the site. The site mentioned in your post appears to work now but was seriously troubled last night.

Does the same thing to me, very frustrating clicking back and forward exactly 3 times.

Kind Regards

Have either of you patched the Proxomitron for the RWIN problem?

@scoop Do you see the problem at http://fitnessavenue.ca/new.php

RE: Prox fails to load certain webpages, sometimes.
I unchecked the "Local connections persist for 20 seconds" option and I don't experience the problem (so far..) But it might be a fluke, who knows

I did not have the RWIN patch (http://www.proxfilter.net/rwin.html) , but I just tried it and it didn't make a difference -- turning on "Local connections persist for.." gave the error repeatedly within a minute of clicking around on a specific website (but not consisently -- I wish it was consistently reproducable by loading a certain page)

http://www.speedguide.net/analyzer.php now says my RWIN is 65536 with Prox, and 65700 without Prox. But I doubt it is related to this problem.

What happens after you increase the time?

I've tried 2 seconds to 50 seconds, still randomly fails when "Local connections.." is checked.

Did wireshark show anything coming back?
Does this happen when the Proxomitron is in bypass mode?
What happens after you set PriorityBoost in the cfg file to FALSE?

If any, which security programs are you using?

Wireshark shows the request but nothing coming back. It does happen in bypass mode. No security other than default Win7 Firewall. But beyond that I've lost patience trying to figure it out since it isn't repeatable on demand, it just happens...
