Careful, I do that. lol My desires won't fit in Win7 shortcut's properties field. There still is a byte limit on command switches in bat, however. In defense of command line switches, some options can't be public and others may not be ready for or needed by everybody. Most of the browsers that I have use have command line switches. I'll be moving thread to Software/Hardware |

RE: Iron / Chromium tracking connections
There is a whole new breed of computer users, who rush to call you paranoid, while you're asking how to block unsolicited connections to the Internet. They always think that they know better. Then they all have to pay for: a) anti-virus subscription services; b) spend money to buy more powerful hardware to run those anti-virus programs in background all the times; c) services that will clean up their computers even though they have those anti-virus subscriptions...
As wise say - ignorance is a bliss... |

JJoe,
Do you see those "X-Chrome-Variations" in headers? May be I'm lucky, but I don't. (looking at Chromium v26, Iron v26) If they will appear, I think it'll be easy to remove them. Right? |

Good. Who needs those "variations"? Not me
What one calls "variations", another person calls a tracking ID. |

@ OZO
thank for 'explaining'. I want to explain something too. (May. 03, 2013 06:52 PM)OZO Wrote: That explains why you don't understand frustration of the othershow dare you spreading rumors about me? how do you want to know if I understand that or not? maybe I am also frustrated. maybe more than you. I didn't wrote anything about my opinion about the line heights. just told you it's probably because of touch screens. don't kill the messenger. you have to learn a lot. (May. 03, 2013 06:52 PM)OZO Wrote: And why configuration should be done in one place ... People are different, really? people are different? until this day I thought they are not. but thank you for explaining and threatening me like a stupid person. I am not sure what you mean with 'in one place'. if you mean the normal settings menu, I can tell you there are good reasons to NOT put all options there. for example because people are different. most users are not like you. most users don't need the command line options. adding them there would confuse the average user. maybe make wanting him stop taking his heart pills. or for the reasons JJoe wrote, 'some options can't be public and others may not be ready for or needed by everybody'. another one: adding the command '--single-process' you posted causes Chromium on my machine to crash. if the options would be in the normal settings menu I would have not be able to reset that command. maybe there are additional reasons. but there is absolutely no need to offend people not sharing your opinion. if you mean with 'in one place' a site similar to chrome://flags I partially share your opinion. telling you the possibility about batch files does not mean I think this is the non-plus-ultra-way to make these options available. but I can't offer you another possibilty. there is none. there is absolutely no chance your complaining here about buttons, location of options and alike will change the default appearance of the browser in future versions. there is a bigger chance if you do this at the browser forums. if your posts are deleted there you should think about changing your intonation. calling the developrs 'a bunch of amateurs' with 'portions of their brains erased', and spreading rumors without even trying to proove them like you did here will not help. definitely. believe me. you could tell to yourself before posting 'And remember, respect is everything!'. |

RE: Iron / Chromium tracking connections
Guys, again, thank you everyone, who participated in this discussion and helped to find out solution!
So far, I don't see any unsolicited outbound connections form Iron v26 anymore. And that restores back my believe in this program |

See this post. Latest Chromium builds still connect to some of Google's servers and to harness that I keep in hosts file this list: Code: 127.0.0.1 googleapis.l.google.com There are some other entries related to Google, but those mentioned above, linked to the Chromium. |
