SlimBoat - Chrome Shell
I've found a "fix" for the D@MN security-check PIECES OF SH^T...

SlimBoat is a "shell browser" to Chrome's WebKit in the same way that SlimBrowser, GreenBrowser, Maxthon, Sleipnir, Avant, etc are "shell browsers" to IE's Trident...

SlimBoat has an option to IGNORE ALL INVALID SSL CERTIFICATES (in the same way that Chrome does *IF* started with the correct commandline switch)...

A GODSEND !!!...

edit: well, "almost" there, SlimBoat only has proxy settings for http, not for https Sad

RE: SlimBoat - Chrome Shell
anybody familiar with a LOCAL "socks5" proxy?

i'm totally CLUELESS and i'm hunting for a "socks5" proxy that will 'sit between' SlimBoat and Proxomitron, assuming that is possible...

reason - SlimBoat only has two proxy settings, "http" and "socks5"...
therefore i cannot run httpS from SlimBoat if i want to run Proxo as an "http" proxy...

so i am assuming that there is some way for SlimBoat to 'talk to' a LOCAL "socks5", both http and httpS, and then that LOCAL "socks5" 'talk to' Proxomitron...

any advice?

RE: SlimBoat - Chrome Shell
I can't help with your question about proxies, but have you tried qupzilla, also based on webkit. (http://www.qupzilla.com/)
It appears to have http and https proxy settings and a setting to ignore ssl warnings.

RE: SlimBoat - Chrome Shell
WinGate and Delegate did have the ability to forward socks to http but I don't think you need it.

SlimBoat's proxy dialog only has two proxy settings but "http" also sets "https" for me. If you don't see the same and SlimBoat is using Chrome command line options, you may be able to set proxy via "--proxy-server".

SlimBoat lacks mouse gestures.
SSL warnings routine may be better than simple ignore.
Are google suggestions in the search bar not using the proxy? I don't see traffic for them in the Proxomitron's log window. Has me wondering about all the social site integration.

RE: SlimBoat - Chrome Shell
i always turn mouse gestures within the browser off anyway, i use a system-wide mouse gesture program, my mouse gesturing isn't "limited" to just browsing...

i'm not exactly "trusting" SlimBoat...
i *HATE* "favicons" and SlimBoat is fetching them even though they are not showing up in the "what the Proxo is thinking" page...

QupZilla, so far, is looking more promising as a browser that will let me browse with the security check CRAP totally DISABLED...
additionally, QupZilla allows for the disabling of the search "suggestion" crap...
