RE: ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded
I'm currently using ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded Version 1.4 (20160112) exe version. I see lot of certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:600) errors on web pages that have valid SSL certificate (like https://elisaviihde.fi/). How can I fix this problem?

RE: ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded
brand new to ProxHTTPSProxyMII so hopefully this hasn't already been asked...
how does ProxHTTPSProxyMII handle the user agent string? if i want the web site that i am at to "see me" as Win10/IE11, for example, is it possible to set the user agent string via ProxHTTPSProxyMII? ie, if i can set it via ProxHTTPSProxyMII then i should *NEVER* see a d@mn freakin' "your browser is out of date" 'notification' !!!... |

RE: ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded
bummer...
i'm using sidki's 2011-12-22rc1 config as my base and for some reason even faking the user agent isn't working... Chase online banking still blocks access from Opera 12.18 and Pale Moon 26.5.0, "you have an outdated browser"... to which i always reply out loud to the computer, "so what! who cares!", and others in the house tell me to stop talking to the computer... my current avenue is reverting to Avant Browser 2014 Build 7... it incorporates THREE rendering engines (IE8, Firefox 30, and Chrome 35)... it's the "oldest" Avant i can find that works for both Capital One and Chase, which are my two problematic sites of late... |

RE: ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded
I just installed Iridium browser hoping to get slightly more privacy-friendly version of Chrome, but https pages will not load and return a message: "Your connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal.... etc... NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID" There is sometimes an option to proceed to the site anyway but the page will display as text-only. I haven't had any problems with Google Chrome 36.0, so I'm not sure why this would behave any differently.

Actually they will most likely figure out your browser through javascript. Changing the user agent will only get you so far (e.g. should be enough for google to get a nicely formatted page while masquerading as IE) I've found this to be true mostly for popular file-sharing hosts, though. agreed...
BUT if you are like me, then you learned a LONG time ago that the BEST way to make your COMPUTER "secure" and EFFICIENT is to **NOT** use any d@mn "anti-virus" POS but to ***NOT*** allow JAVASCRIPT... |

RE: ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded
Javascript is a necessary evil, and by necessary I mean, a few websites I still need access to use it quite extensively and there's no escaping that (none of them can genuinely justify the use of javascript, specially those with simple fillable forms that could be submitted a thousand different ways without involving a line of javascript, but hey, what do I know?). All I can do is to make this process as smooth and safe as I possibly can, but disabling it altogether is obviously out of the question at the moment.
About the only place out there you can be a 100% certain javascript has no place at all is Freenet (all scripting is filtered out so it makes no matter what people upload or the boolean state of the interpreter), but people love their everyday clearweb garbage and I have given up trying to educate them into migrating to this better place (or any other for that matter). The best way to secure your computer is to have an adequate understanding of how everything works and not let your privacy out to "magic bullet"-type software that is seldom ever truly so. I think a good AV has it's place, and the place it has in my computer is a virtualized environment that I use for testing freshly downloaded files. Anything beyond that, I have little use for, and yes, running anything other than NOD32 is asking for trouble! RE: ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded
Hello! The file cacert.pem is somewhat outdated. Some sites need to be included in exceptions in [SSL Pass-Thru], for example, https://1.1.1.1. Can I add certificates myself for the operation of such sites? How to do it?

RE: ProxHTTPSProxyMII: Reloaded
Try https://curl.haxx.se/docs/caextract.html for a more current file.
Use a browser to capture and export the certificate in pem format. Use an editor (notepad) to add the cert to 'cacert.pem'. https://1.1.1.1 works for me. (Apr. 08, 2018 07:09 PM)vlad_s Wrote: Hello!
