This version is obsolete now. See here for the current release.
About This config should work with all Gecko Browsers and IE clones > 5.5 , Opera 7.x (a few config features disabled), Netscape 4.x (many features disabled). It may well be incompatible with IE 5.x or Opera 6 - I don't have these browsers installed. However, most of the time i use it with Firefox (nightly build). While it might be set up to surf the web and forget about Proxomitron, it's actually intended for people that are curious about what's happening under the hood of webpages. Otherwise most of the displayed information can be considered as overhead. The set itself is a bit complex and hence likely to be difficult to maintain for people new to Proxomitron. Please take the time to read the ReadMe... Thanks! JD for testing filters/configs, discussions, ideas, etc etc... Mona for quite a few killer ideas and for sharing her config layout. All who took the time testing the beta. A great number of ideas came from Paul Rupe's config set: http://www.geocities.com/u82011729/prox/ Jesse Ruderman's bookmarklets were a valuable resource for the Prox Toolbar: http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/ Last modified April 11th, size 97k. Get it here. sidki |

Always a pleasure -- I hope it's actually useful as a public config set.

I'm certainly looking forward to test driving it...
I'll be doing that on Monday when I'm back in front of the Firefox machine... |

Hey sidki,
Thanks a million. You have made my day. I had been asking and waiting for your config set for quite sometime now. Next to my birthday (12 Feb), this has been my next best day for this year. . You deserve it all. You are one of the few modern day Proxo gurus. Very helpful; extremely knowledgeable. gorgan |

sidki;
It would appear that you can now upload the file to here, if you wish to do so. Kye-U fixed/restored that capability a few days ago. Oddysey I'm no longer in the rat race - the rats won't have me! |

Your filterset works PURRfectly. It appears to the most complex that I have seen but it's fast and thorough at cleaning junk, trackers, ads etc. I especially love the tools and toolbar at the bottom of the webpage. STUPENDOUS. I have no problems so far. NONE. The following are my comments, questions, and observations so far.
1. If enabled, what is the effect? [Patterns] Name = "|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Injected JS" 2. Fix typo?? (tilte) in Bounds of [Patterns] Name = "<title>: Add Time - Fix Tag - Snip Excess 3.12.08 (always) [jd s] (d.1)" I also saw it in the 2003-11-19 version as well. 3. Yahoo Site Specific filters works flawlessly. For the first time I have a working set. Login in smoothly and automatically using SSL and the site is really cleaned. It doesn't even look like a Yahoo website. Excellent work. 4. I had to make an adjustment to your Page Load Timer which does not seem to work for me. I have added these filters from http://www.tntluoma.org. I hope that's alright. However, my browser window - Opera 7.23/7.50p3 displays a longer load time than the filters. [Patterns] Name = "<inject>: Page Load Timer I [head][hp]" Active = TRUE URL = "$TYPE(htm)" Limit = 11 Match = "(^(^<head>))" Replace = "<script type="text/javascript">\n" "<!--\n" "var pt=new Date();\n" "function endT() {\n" "var pxet=new Date();\n" "loadT=('Load Time: '+(pxet.getTime()-pt.getTime())/1000+' second(s)');\n" "document.title=document.title.substr(0, 80)+'... '+loadT;\n" "window.defaultStatus=loadT;\n" "}//-->\n" "</script>\n$STOP()" Name = "<inject>: Page Load Timer II [end][hp]" Active = TRUE URL = "$TYPE(htm)" Limit = 50 Match = "<end>" Replace = "\r" "<script type="text/javascript">\n" "<!--\n" "window.onload=endT;\n" "//-->\n" "</script>\n$STOP()" 5. I have added this filter after Block: Properties II for added security. I will appreciate your advice on whether is integrates properly in your config set [Patterns] Name = "Block: Nosy JavaScript [??]" Active = TRUE URL = "($TYPE(htm)|$TYPE(js)|$TYPE(oth))(^$TST(keyword=*.(js|code).*))" Bounds = "$NEST(<script,</script>)" Limit = 16000 Match = "*(.(plugins|mimeTypes|buildNumber|PixelDepth|ColorDepth|AvailHeight|AvailWidth|fromCharCode|javaEnabled|attachEvent|random)|history.length)\1*" "&($TST(script=*)|$TYPE(oth))" Replace = "<span class="Prox" id="prxScript" style;><center>" "[Nosy JS: \1]" "</center>" "</span>" "$SET(script=)" 6. How does one print Cookies and Collected Stuff? Is there are place where they are stored for review before printing? BTW your config set is now my default. GREAT JOB. gorgan |
