RE: So... Vista and the Proxomitron
works well with Vista Ultimate Edition, both IE7 and FF2

I setup the standard ProxN45j.exe, copied over the patched version Proxomitron.exe and unzipped the two sidki config files, overwriting the Sep version with the Oct version, set both browsers to localhost 8080 and it was all working correctly

copied ssleay32.dll and libeay.dll to c:\windows\system32\

the only mod I made was in the useragents, as it sends browserversion and operating system as NT 6 and some websites refuse to load so I made both just generic (compatible; U; Windows)

verified it all at junkbusters.com/cgi-bin/privacy

RE: So... Vista and the Proxomitron
here's a little more of what I've discovered after using Vista Ultimate and sidki's configs

apparently the UseSSLeay = TRUE is causing a problem as I get a random popup from proxo with certain sites but not always that it needs ssleay32.dll and libeay.dll (not libeay32.dll)

these 2 modules are in my \windows\system32 folder

finally, I removed them

now, IE7 or FF2 would not load anything, just reported back that proxo is refusing connections - fine, ok, so next I changed the line in the default.cfg (which is just a saved copy of the sidki .oob file)
UseSSLeay = FALSE

now, it all works fine and no more popups at random times

if anyone has a comment on why or perhaps a more recent version of these 2 .dll modules, feel free to suggest.

this may be the problem for the person on castlecops also

SSL files are at
http://www.proxomitron.info/files/index.html
or
http://www.geocities.com/sidki3003/prox-ssl.html
I'd add them to the Proxomitron exe's folder.

The user must enable SSL Filtering, so I don't think so but...
