Antiadbuster Pro....
« on: August 09, 2002, 08:42:32 PM »
Some sites seem to be using this. I cant get past them.
http://www.cdcovers.cc/audio_b.php
I use the fake cookie trick.
I put *antiadbuster* in my bypass/cookie bypass list.
I am also faking my user agent.
cd covers says I have cookies disabled and i have to turn them on.
The problem seems to be with the cookie trick. If I disable all but that filter it still says I have cookies disabled. If I turn off the cookie trick it works but that is with all filters off. If I turn on my usual filters but not the cookie trick it says I'm using an adblocker. Any one know whats going on?

Hi,

try merging this set with yours:
Attachment: adbusters.zip 1,13 KB

Also put the sites listed in your allow cookie list.

I can access the blocking sites without problems using this config.

hi divideBYzero, welcome here.
it seems that the antiadbuster developers have joined the proxomitron yahoo group so fool their protection will always become harder.
actually i'm using the line:
*antiadbuster*
in my bypass list, but it doesn't work anymore on some sites.

regards,
altosax.

That sucks, maybe the admin of the prox yahoo group should make an accepable usp policy and make it agenst the rules to use the group to prevent the proxomitron from doing its job right.

Maybe someone should go on the offensive and join the AntiAdBuster forum and see
what kind of tricks they are using.

The forum is located here:

For all the good it'll do, I did too, and got locked out after the first post...that'll give you an idea about this Ranjit fella...

See my other post, it won't get you anywhere...you'd better of downloading the asp/php versions available and disect these...

but I thought this was already long gone and dealt with?

I mean, I can still get around cdcovers and phpbuddy without problems, even if they are testdriving the pro version.

There's only three things you've got to do

1 - protect the <textarea>*</textarea> from getting changed by Prox (length test)
2 - allow cookies for the site (it communicates testresults thru them, unfakable unless you know which encryption key they use)
3 - allow popups for the site (or possible only for the checking URL)

There was an alternative method, which AltoSax already mentioned, but that will nolonger work at some sites (the path used changed) so it is possible you may need to enter various derivatives of adbuster in the bypasslist in order to get past 1.

for the moment mine has these three variants

*/adbust/*
*adbuster(.|_)*
*ad_bust.*

Now, if you followed the discussions over at the adbuster forum, you'll know there's a bug in the popupblocker detection of the pro version, so sometimes it will say you run a popup blocker even if you are not.

Ranjit has asked both cdcovers and phpbuddy to disable the popup test, so it may change functionality again soon, but the three basic requirements to get around won't change...

BTB, there's no real worry them picking up on this,

The one major flaw in all those testers is that you only need to bypass the test and can filter to your hearts content anywhere in between tests...
