4.0 lasted on my box for less than an hour. Despite disabling everything except for the firewall, it kept blocking a local shortcut that it thought was some sort of trojan.

Nothing makes me feel safer than "features" that can't be turned off.

I have learned to live with 3.1 (although I much preferred the interface of 2.x)

OK, I haven't been using the half-SSL option in Proxomitron with Sidki's 2-13-2009 config, but I'm willing to give it a try and see if I run into trouble.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

As I recall, one has to use certain versions of ssleay32 and libeay32 files, or is there a way to get the most recent versions of these files to work?

Also, could someone please give a little instruction on how to create a new, up-to-date proxcert.pem file, which might include certificates existing on my computer?

I use the files at http://www.proxomitron.info/files/index.html .

We haven't found one.

Grab a copy of Roll-Your-Own-ProxCert at http://sidki.proxfilter.net/prox-ssl.html for future use.

This would be certs.pem. Instructions are in the Proxomitron's Docs folder,
http://www.proxomitron.info/45/docs/readme.txt .
