10% CPU usage - Guest - Jul. 22, 2008 07:41 PM Hello. BFilter uses 10% CPU every few seconds when idle. Is this a bug? It is definitely due to BFilter. (On Win XP SP3, AMD Turion64 x2 Processor)
RE: 10% CPU usage - jart - Jul. 22, 2008 08:14 PM This should not happen. Are you sure it's BFilter and not some other process causing CPU load? Does the tray icon show activity? If so, you can check what's being requested in Tray Menu -> Log -> Requests. RE: 10% CPU usage - Guest - Jul. 23, 2008 12:04 PM Hello again, I did a bit more investigating (using process explorer), and it is the process "DCPs" which is using the CPU (this didn't show up in task manager). However, it only seems to do this when BFilter is running, and the behaviour stops when BFilter is ended. Take a look at this: ![]() The tray icon does not show activity, and there are no requests in the log. RE: 10% CPU usage - jart - Jul. 23, 2008 01:20 PM I have no idea what causes it. I did a google search, and it seems DCPs process causing CPU load is a common problem. Here is a 45 page discussion about it: http://forum.sysinternals.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=837&PN=1 No definite answer is given there, unfortunately. |
