Hey script gods,

Could you please rewrite the JD's filter for Google.com for their new format. I got so used to not seeing any adds, that their appearance bugs me a lot.

Thanks

This is what JD posted shortly after Google's new format came out...

Code:
Name = "Google:  Clean & Expand {JD5000}"
Active = TRUE
URL = "[^.]+.google."
Limit = 256
Match = ".j{width:33em}"
"   $SET(0=.j{width:100%})"
"|"
"<p class=g>$SET(gbody=1)<table cellpadding=0"
"   $SET(0=<p class=g><table width=80% cellpadding=0)"
"|"
"<table [^>]++ (width=[23][50]%|height=40) *>"
"   $SET(0=<table style="display:none">)"
Replace = "\0"

That must be doing the trick, 'cause I ain't got no ads on Google...

I used the above posted filter and found out that it removed all the Sponsored Links from Google search. The filter name says "Google: Clean & Expand {JD5000}". I can see that the sponsored links are cleaned but what is supposed to expand? [unsure]
This is how google search looks like on my system
Without filter:

With filter:

I notice that the right half of the page is empty when the filter is enabled... is it possible to use up that space to display the search results? Like using 2 lines to display each search result instead of 4 lines. Smile!

Thanks.

chokn;

I didn't know that Google had any new ads. :o Big Teeth Must be that they are still drawing them from the same old sources, so my ad-server URL block-list must still be doing its job correctly. [lol]

I purposely don't block the 'paid results', because there have been a few occasions where they did me some good (but only a few). Plus, since they don't have any images, they don't intrude on my normal 'eye-scan' of a results page. Smile!

Oh, and BTW, Welcome to the forums!
