Unable to Invoke Proxomitron Menu
I am unable to see the Proxomitron Menu (the one with the Smart WhoAmI button, for example). I understand that if I move the cursor to the top left hand corner of the web page that I am currently browsing or if I left-click on that webpage, a circle with a triangle inside it should appear. Well, I can't see it. I am using the 4.5-j version straight (with no UI changes or additional scripts). I also tried it with the ProxiPatcher GUI applied and with sidki's scripts. I have tried this with IE7, IE6 and Fiefox 2.0. I am am running Windows XP Professional with all available updates applied. I have turned off all pop-up blockers and even my firewall (after disconnecting from the Web). I know that am "going through" the Proxomitron http server because I get the page "Host Name Lookup Failed. The Proxomitron couldn't find the site named ..." when I am disconnected from the Net.
Does the Proxomitron Menu require to be enabled in some way or am I misunderstanding what I should do to cause the menu to appear? Thank you in advance for any help with this matter. |

That fixed it for when I am using Firefox 2.0. Further info which might be useful to IE7 users experiencing similar problems to mine follows: I tried running the Proxomitron with the config file sidki_2006-09-03.ptron with and without the 2006-10-15 updates with and without work-in-progress filters of 2006-11-17. With Firefox 2.0, everything seems to work fine but with IE 7.0.5730.11, it does not work properly for the majority of the pages I have tried. For example: Real Clear Politics( http://www.realclearpolitics.com ) - The icon does not appear at all (or if it does I cannot see it amongst the page content). Washington Post( http://www.washingtonpost.com ): Icon only appears if you scroll down to the bottom of the page before left clicking and then icon appears in the bottom left-hand corner instead of the bottom right-hand corner. New York Times ( http://www.nytimes.com ): Works properly. I will send this info to sidki via the e-mail link on his web page. |
