How do I get Firefox rv:17.b to install themes?

Has anyone managed to get Firefox rv:1.7b to install third party themes? I have not been able to get the nightlies to install any themes, and the download manager gets hung up when I try. I would really like to know if there is some trick to doing it, which I have missed.
