I have 'tested' it on XP and have read that people are using it to add some time to XP. We are not your average computer users, however.
I don't know how well it actually works for them.

That said, I dragged all my people off XP after an exploit allowed access to an elderly friend's non-administrator account.

Did you set the browser to use the Proxy for https?
Is the Proxy running?
