Simple.... it means that the digital rights management for High Definition TV will very probably be built into the computer hardware before it is ever sold to the user. Further, the next sentence states that once that's done, the BIOS of the computer system will not allow you to change to a different Blu-Ray or HD drive. The system will be locked together, you won't be able to change one part of the system, like you can now with most computers.

That's called "a very bad thing". Sad


As you can see from the date, the article is two years old. Blu-Ray has since won the war, and if I'm not mistaken, it carries a copy-protection similar to the AACS noted in the article. I doubt there will be any boycott, it's a bit late for that.
