Sidki's filters block ZA free download
"Prox says foo" ----what the heck is THAT??? I get that message, even when BYPASSING Proxo or unchecking webfilters. I get it on Fx, IE and Opera when trying to get the free Zone Alarm offer.
http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/sum/index.html Finally, after I switched to Scott's default config, that message disappeared and I was able to get a popup box to fill out for the offer. They are overwhelmed so no longer allowing downloads, but asking for name and email address and they are going to send a link for download after the 24 hour offer is over. I figured Proxo was not allowing the popup but even when I bypassed or unchecked web filters I still couldn't get the popup. I've noticed other times that bypass doesn't seem to do anything if Sidki's filters are being used. Wonder why that is? Bypass isn't really bypass? IE6 gets hung on that page. Actually, Opera 9.62 was the only browser (and I also tried IE8 and Fx3 on a virtual machine) that was able to give me a button to submit but it too was producing "Prox says foo" until I closed Opera, then switched to Proxo default config (Scott's last). The log was not recording any activity on the ZA page as long as Sidki's filters were being used or even bypassed. I had to switch to Scott's to even see activity on the log. That seems weird. Anyhow, is the "Prox says foo" an "easter egg" sort of thingy that Sidki put in there? |
