Should work. Check if you've disabled any JavaScript features under Options -> Web Features -> Advanced. These things don't depend on Java.

sidki
i tried it with them all enabled
Allow scripts to
Move or resize existing windows
Raise or lower windows
Disable or replace context menus
Hide the status bar
Change status bar text
Change images

but the filters only seemed to work on web pages with an .txt extension such as
http://www.geocities.com/sidki3003/prox/ot...ChangeLog-U.txt
also tried with Firefox in safemode.

edit: after creating a new profile and reinstalling my extensions i am happy to report that your marvellous cfg. works as intended.

This superlative config is unrivaled! Running it renewed my faith in Proxomitron. It replaces so many Firefox extensions, like a swiss army knife! It is a godsend!

Anyways, into business... http://fileforum.betanews.com/rss2 is a RSS and the config turns it into a funky-looking php file instead of a normal xml, and Sage (Firefox extension) displays "XML Parse Error." It's a small problem, you don't have to look into if you don't want to.

And you need to add some description into the IncludeExclude.html!!! Your new menu (so sweet!!!) looks professional and clean but the icons don't look so great on dark/colored backgrounds (just a cosmetic thing, don't mind if you don't care).

And what's the difference between "Flash & Media Toggle: Show/Play by Default" and "Toggle Flash"/"Toggle Media"...

Eek! It's fixed in the new config version, which is on my Prox webpage already. I'll post it at the discussion groups soon.

Quote:And you need to add some description into the IncludeExclude.html!!!
Well, yes, i probably should. As it stands IncludeExclude.html is an "image" of the real list, including the super-short description for each keyword. But documentation wise i'm currently focussing on the directions for use, "Config_Control.txt".

Quote:Your new menu (so sweet!!!) looks professional and clean but the icons don't look so great on dark/colored backgrounds (just a cosmetic thing, don't mind if you don't care).
You mean the big and small triangle ones? I'm open for testing esthetical improvements, if i get concrete material. Like: "Try color #123456 as background, Verdana 9px as menu font, char #8593 as JavaScript indicator, attached icon as replacement for this and this."

Quote:And what's the difference between "Flash & Media Toggle: Show/Play by Default" and "Toggle Flash"/"Toggle Media"...
From the new Config_Control.txt:
Quote:Flash & Media Toggle: Show/Play by Default (off)
...............................................................................

By default background sounds, Flash, and movies don't start or show up until
you click a "toggle" link.  This switch reverses that principle: Everything is
displayed until you click the respective link.
"Toggle Flash", "Toggle Media", "Toggle etc." activate the toggle, defaulting to either "don't show" or "show", as controlled by above described option.

lol... i don't have any extensions, be it hanging below my shoulders or 'enhancing' my browser...

although, in the 80's, i did have a "mullet"...
but i don't remember it being called a "mullet" back then...

"and one summer... in band camp..."
oh wait, wasn't in the band - but it's a great "line" nonetheless...

LOL

Anyways, I have another problem, the sUserCSS loads the custom CSS before the ProxStyles.css and well, those a. implementations override the custom CSS, so could the custom CSS load before ProxStyles.css?

*If I am mistaken, you can sue me!

ProxStyles.css is injected first, then the user stylesheet.

Reversing this order wouldn't work because the last injected stylesheet is the dominant one. *Unless* a previous inline or external style block has flagged a property with "!important". And even then you can override it by flagging your user style with "!important" as well.

IOW:
ProxStyles.css uses "!important" for Non-Prox styles just once - for visited links. This is because of a certain CSS exploit. You can overwrite that by appending "!important" to the style properties that deal with ":visited" in your user CSS. The three user stylesheets that come with the config already do that.

Okay, i've linked the new config version (Feb 22). Uploads to the paFileDB are broken (User Uploads are not currently available), so it's an offsite link for now. First post updated. Big Teeth

Hi Sidki

Just looked over the new cfg & noticed "MozillaZine: Alternate Display - Stand-Alone (toggle) [sd]" has been undated to "MozillaZine: Alternate Display 5.01.16 (toggle) [sd] (d.s).

Back on Jan 15 you created an altered version to work in JD Alpha. Can you do the same for this one or should I just stick with what I've got?

thx Smile!

Maybe i corrected something for the stand-alone version and adjusted the config version accordingly. I don't remember.
Anyway, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Smile!

MozillaZine: Alternate Display 5.01.16 (toggle) [sd] (d.s) doesn't work.

Tried importing MozillaZine: Alternate Display 4.12.16 (toggle) [sd] (d.s) but no good.

Both versions work in 12-28 cfg, but neither function in 2-22 cfg.

All I added to 2-22 was Kye-U set and some site specific stuff. right out of the 12-28 set. No other setting changes.

I also can't find prox menu anywhere. Do you know anything in Firefox that would hinder it? Maybe my custom build?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050228 Firefox/1.0.1 (MOOX M2)

I don't think it's your Moox build.
First i would try it again with sidki_oob.ptron, as described in FAQ -> Config related -> A1.

If Prox Menu and Mozillazine toggle still don't work, it's likely one of your extensions.
There was a similar problem in the post at the top of this page - here.
Usual suspects are ad-blocking extensions (which are superfluous with Prox anyway).

Personally, i keep a second, clean Firefox profile around for such cases. You can create/switch profiles with "firefox.exe -ProfileManager".
