increas look ahead size?
Is there a way to increase the look ahead size?

http://www.playdota.com/heroes

There is a huge difference in page performance if i have proxo off for that page!

"Performance"?

Page has around 150 images and a missing script. My browsers render the page in about 8-10 seconds with or without the Proxomitron.

Once the files are cached it is much faster.
However, my mozillas are not using the cached files as expected.
I'll see if there is something we can do to 'fix' mozilla.

Which browser are you using?

RE: increas look ahead size?
Opera may have changed their default for using HTTP/1.1 through a proxy.
Look in Preferences -- Advanced -- Network -- Proxy Servers.
Also review the 'opera:config' page's Performance settings.

I went back to version 9.6 for various reasons, so I'm not sure what 10.51 is doing. Based on what I've read you should focus on the Opera version's performance before trying to find issues in Proxo.

RE: increas look ahead size?
I have 10.51.

I enabled "HTTP 1.1 for proxy" and "start with HTTP 1.1 for proxy"
Unite, Opera link, turbo are off.
Pipelining is on.
"Max Connections Server per server" is 16. "Reduce Max Persistent HTTP Connections" is off. This gives Proxo 16 connections instead of 8 (I think).
I don't remember exactly what else.

10.51 sometimes takes seconds before it displays anything but seems ok.
I don't use it much, however.

BTW, if each server gets to use 8 connections, all of opera's requests through the Proxomitron share those 8 connections.
When opera is not using a proxy, more than 8 connections may be used.
So, some busy background windows could slow things down.

Some interesting links at my.opera.com,
Cache issue (Opera 10.50Final sends HEAD instead of GET in HTML headers).
