RE: how to bypass my ISP so I can Browse freely
Your ISP knows that you're connected, but they may not be monitoring every port at all times, thus you may get a temporary 'free ride'. Normally, they monitor the main stuff (80, 25, 110, 443, stuff like that), and bill you according to what they see there. But if they want, they can certainly monitor all the possible ports (65,536 of them!). At that point, you're subject to their rules, like it or not.
Truth to tell, I'm surprised they weren't doing this from the beginning, but lots of outfits have started out with a stumble or two..... Sadly, you've been caught by their "upgrade" in security and financial dealings. The only way I can see this happening for you is piggy-backing on someone else's connection. It's not kosher to do that from your home/dorm/worksite, but I'm not here to lecture on that aspect of how to conduct your life. However, I do suggest that you start hanging out near a Starbucks or other such "free wi-fi" location. Trust me, you'll feel much better about yourself. ![]() HTH Oddysey I'm no longer in the rat race - the rats won't have me! |
