SafeSquid
Hi.

I'm a new member of the forum (though I've been happily using Proxomitron for about 8 years now on about 7 PCs).

I'm currently piecing together a Linux machine and it just hit me that Proxomitron only work under MS Windows.

I don't think I could go back to seeing frequently-visited web pages the way the brain-dead HTML-coders slapped them together.

At first, the wikipedia page for SafeSquid looked like it would do everything Proxomitron does (plus more) for free (and with a nifty web interface), but after a few hours of trudging through the documentation on SafeSquid.com, I'm not convinced it can do any HTML-munging other than for URLs.

Most of my current Proxomitron filters change the background, remove huge swaths of useless HTML code, etc.

Does anyone on this forum have experience with SafeSquid?

The real answer is probably "switch over to using bfilter" but my first impression of SafeSquid was that it might be a lot nicer.

Thanks in advance for any feedback anyone has on SafeSquid!
