Proxydomo, created from proximodo's source

I'm still using Proximitron because it's still wicked fast for http filtering. But I came across a Japanese open-source called Proxydomo recently and wonder if anyone else have heard of it?

It's supposedly created from the source code of the abandoned Proximodo, which is a clone of Proximitron. They are pretty active on their github https://github.com/amate/Proxydomo/releases

So far http filtering is as good as Proximitron's performance I would say. It also has https filtering working and a built-in ssl cert generator. It's working better than Proximitron +ProxHTTPSProxy, but somehow it causes browsers to eat up more CPU cycles than usual when browsing a secure site.

Just want to add an update. Proxydomo's progress is going quite well. It's been updated to version 1.50. WolfSSL is used now instead of their older one that was not well fitted for Windows. HTTPS encryption is now on par with browser's performance.

I'm officially using this now over the beloved Proxomitron. Thanks for all the fishes all these year.

i didn't get anywhere with it when i tried it several weeks ago (did not like that i couldn't import my Proxo config so i uninstalled it within seconds of downloading it, didn't even get as far as to actually browsing with it)...

i didn't wish to spend a lot of time on it when httpS was reported as being high CPU...

and did not like how the Proxo config imported, it did import, but i don't recall being very impressed with the filter order or the overall import - and again, did not wish to spend ANY time on it, at least at the time...

will try v1.50 in a few days...

Like it so much, bring me back the day Scott with his Proxomitron, still one of best Ad Filtering software.

I like Japanese friends's work, this program can be a future of Proxomitron.

At this time my problem is how to import skidi pack into Proxydomo..

I get it, open cfg file using txt editor, and then copy and then Import from clipboard, Skidi pack wont work (freeze Proxy) but standard pack will work.

I just took a brief look at this because I was curious about how it implemented SSL filtering, and the first thing I noticed was the... size. The .zip is over 14MB and unpacks to almost 40, and the source is 6MB unpacked to >30. Proxodomo.exe is itself >5MB. It took a surprisingly long time to start, too. Can't help but wonder why... when Scott's 4.5j is 289KB unpacked, and Proxomitron Reborn 4.6, which also has SSL filtering and certificate generation, is 269KB. The source (which I am planning to release...) is <1MB.

Is Proxydomo really 20 times better? "Great Scott!", as they say.
