RE: Google Web Site Problems
ProxRocks ... thanks for your effort and time figuring out the Google httpS problem or situation. I had somehow figured this out a little on my own last week with Pale Moon ... but I did not know for sure what I had done. Last week Pale Moon was working with the dark blue Google page back again ... but only on Pale Moon, not K-Meleon or Opera ... which I had just put back on my computer.

I have been trying so many different things and I just wasn't sure "how" I got Pale Moon working again with the dark blue Google page but it stayed ... didn't go away ... until 'all day' yesterday, I put my backup back on the computer and the Google Search page was white again with the moving animation.

When you posted your results yesterday about the three browsers ... I tried the Pale Moon fix and I have the Google dark blue page back again and no httpS. You are correct when you say the "fix" doesn't work with the K-Meleon and Opera browser.

I have in my Favorites / Links folder four search pages ...
numbered 01 to 04

01 DuckDuckGo
02 StartPage
03 Bing
04 Google

So I just changed the the Google URL to the one you supplied and Pale Moon works just fine. Pale Moon uses DuckDuckGo as the default search engine and I was thinking of changing that to Google ... but I just read this a few hours ago from the Pale Moon creator.

Managing search engines in Pale Moon

Mon Aug 15, 2016

The in-browser search engines in Pale Moon are managed with a few simple controls, allowing you to select, add and remove search engines of your choice.

Selecting a different search engine:

In the search bar, click the logo/drop-down arrow next to the input field to open up the menu with search engines.

Please note that selecting a different search engine here will change your search engine for search bar, address bar, about:home and context searches.

Please also note that using a different search engine than the default (DuckDuckGo) will effectively end your support for the Pale Moon browser through searches (which provides the majority of our funding). if you want to support us, kindly consider using DDG for the bulk of your search needs.

.... so, since DuckDuckGo helps them with funding ... I will leave the default search engine as is ... if I need Google, I will click on it in the Links folder.
