Hello all!
I just installed Mandrake 10.1 and I'm wondering if there are any similar programs to Proxomitron for Mandrake 10.1/Linux. I had forgotten how annoying those ads are without my Proxomitron, but I don't think there's a Linux version of it or Proxomodo. If there are any similar programs or other easily configurable proxy programs for Linux I'd appreciate some referrals! ![]() I basically need it for ad blocking, that's all. ![]() |

Melly;
You can go over to sourceforge and snatch the source code for Proximodo, and then compile it for Mandrake, that might work. Or, you can locate and install a copy of WINE (WINdows Emulator), and run Proxo under that. A few people here have reported doing that, somewhat successfully IIRC, but on other boards around the net, WINE has been getting a mixed reputation. That's why I suggest that you find a known good Mandrake-friendly implementation. Good luck, and do keep us posted. ![]() Oddysey I'm no longer in the rat race - the rats won't have me! |
