Title: Hide browser identity
Post by: SvenR on January 14, 2002, 04:19:00 PM
I am using Proxomitron's "User Agent" filter (under Headers) and "Hide Browser's Version/Identity from JS" (under Web Page) to mask my browser and system to appear as Netscape 4.5 running on a Macintosh. However, some web sites can still correctly detect that I am running Netscape 6.2 on Win98, e.g. https://snoop.anonymizer.com/

How do they do that and what can I do to prevent this?

Sven

Hi,
You must make sure you have working copies of the libeay32.dll and ssleay.dll in your Proxomitron folder and also that you have activated them in Proxomitron. You will find a fourm here called SSL where you will find useful tips.

Best wishes
