Title: web1000 Problem
Post by: waldemaruz on May 19, 2002, 03:50:35 PM
I do'nt know if its a known problem, but I did'nt find it here.
Web1000 is a Northamerican provider for free webspace. They make money by redirecting 404 requests to some obscure websites. They say that only 404 requests are redirected, but for Europe, especially Germany, it seems that *all* requests to any web1000-site are redirected. For American users everything works fine.
There seems to be an easy solution: just use an American proxy.
But this does not work. I tried many proxies, I tried anonymous proxies, cookies are cleared, IE cache is cleared. Is there a possibility to config Proxo in combination with an extern proxy to solve this problem?
Any help or experience would be appreciated.

Alas not.... Web1000 is checking your IP address, and there is no way to alter that without using a Proxy

Yes, I know. But I tried many different proxies, none did work! Not even anonymous proxies!
