Title: Proxy Test Question
Post by: hpguru on August 25, 2002, 04:24:31 AM
When a proxy is tested how should I interpret a host header with my ip address in the log window when the test has completed? For example

Testing 212.54.0.24:80 Finland (3)
Waiting for remote proxy's reply
Proxy DNS lookup = zombiemud.megabaud.fi
Proxy IP = 212.54.0.24
  >GET / HTTP/1.0
  >Host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7734  (My IP)
  >Pragma: no-cache
  >User-Agent: Mozilla/2.0 (Macintosh; I; PPC)
  >HTTP/1.0 200 Proxy test OK
Ending proxy test

In this example the proxy 212.54.0.24 is real so you can test it yourself if you like. I don't see this header returned for all proxies is why I ask.
