This filter both remove ads and the blank areas left by them when removed. Basically this filter can be used instead of the other ad remover filters. This filter is made by ScoJo:

Hey Arne I have been watching Scojo release his AdContainer remover filter for a while now and hadn't attempted to try them out "yet"... Have you ran any of his AC releases?
TIA

Hi All
It is definitly a great filter. Have been using it almost from the beginning. And I think what Redback means is that he no longer sees these filters getting activated
Yes, that would be ACR in action alright, taking out singlehandedly what a lot of other filters do together, it also takes out the extra tags surrounding an ad tag, if that tag does not contain other text or data. Meaning it also takes out container tags that would otherwise be left behind as blank area (the general effect of a filter replacing an ad with a transparant replacement gif)
If it is a good thing that it makes other filters useless?
Depends, if you leave the other filters in place, thatway you can turn off ACR and ads would still be taken out. Some folks with slower machines (probably < 300Mhz) noticed it's possibly a bit slower than these filters so they sometimes prefer to switch off ACR or exclude certain blocklist-heavy sites from this filter, letting the other filters to deal with the exclusions.
The possible slowdown can however also be site related. Due to its functioning, ACR sometimes causes a series of 'false positive' blocklist hits before the filter fails. This can cause a slowdown if the log window is open.
It is definitly worth a try and looksee, just remember to place it above the other ad and banner killers if you want to see which ones no longer trigger.

This has a few problems for me, for eg with winamp site, the links to download are killed, as is the piccy of winamp itself (no bad as such, but it's also a link and the link dies too).

This link gets killed, so you can't download.... (spaces are mine in case the board changes the html into a real link)
