Cool! I changed the password check frequency from the max 24 hours to 15 min. The filter works.

Thanks,

When I went back to above link after 24 hours the password check returned.
It's not a big thing though. By now I even know my password by heart :)

Hello JakBeNymble

Thanks for the reply. I added the strings to my bypass list and entered my password at http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups . Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Questions and Answers / Yahoo Password Check

Hello,

Does anyone know how to get around the daily password check at Yahoo Groups?
The only Yahoo filters I use are Mona's and I have login.yahoo.com/ on my AllowCookies list.

TIA,
moulder

Questions and Answers / Always Remote Proxy?
« on: June 07, 2002, 02:15:27 AM »
Hello JakBeNymble,

I have read your post about JAP.
However, the great thing with X-Forwarded-For/Client-IP Spoofing would be:
Appearing in the server logs with a different IP without taking the disadvantage of an external proxy slowdown.

Questions and Answers / Always Remote Proxy?

Arne: That's what I use to do as well, thanks :)

JakBeNymble: Sorry, I didn't understand the joke within (or that you maybe meant Proxomitron).

dave1006: I didn't clearly mention it, but I had external anonymous proxies in mind.
Interesting idea to use X-Forwarded-For Spoofing. I found the threads in the forum on this.
BTW, don't you get trouble with your ISP if you do so?

Thanks again for the response,
moulder

Questions and Answers / Always Remote Proxy?

Hello,

I know my question is OT, but I was reading here several times:
"Never go out without a proxy"
Is it really that dangerous to connect directly?

TIA,
moulder
