That last section did it - the filter still kills embed sounds, AND shows the file name, just in case you MIGHT like it....

Using this embeded midi filter

how do I alter the filter to just have "mid - jupo.mid"
shown??

Has anyone posted the latest versions of Prox.css yet?

you guys all seem to use the 'prox' section of the css (see the latest post on the embedded sound issue) - all this section doeson mine is KILL the list/link.

I dunno enuf about css *yet* ......

Add this to the first list (adcomments)

Scott - my apologies (I guess I'm too used to really buggy apps/games).

Proxomitron is NOT at fault - I've just stopped a 36 hr memory test that shows 56080 errors in my 1st memory stick (0-256M). It's gone back for replacement.

Now running on one stick, Proxo just shows the usual errors (the flush error, not proxo), and the old one it's had since I first started using it over 3 yrs ago (or so) - it just suddenly stops responding to the browser (shows 'waiting for connection' in the main window. Shutting off Proxo & IE then restarting both ususally fixes it. And it's a very very rare fault.

So, again, sorry....

If there's one thing I do dislike, it's links that are 'hidden' - you know, the same as the text - "click here" with the 'here' being the link, but all the same as the rest - I like to KNOW!! where things are..

If you're using the prox.css, add this to it, it will give you a coloured scroll bar, and a hand icon for links (the scroll bar is to show proxo is active, as opposed to using a filter to add it to the title bar!!).

Yes, I've noticed this - I've had a few sites (simtel net australia for eg)
that I had to put into a bypass-comment-killer list - else the entire download listing would be not there!!

Umm, but surely having a close comment missing would also mean your new filter would miss it? (I guess missing it is better than killing it all, LOL!!)

I liked altosax's idea of using BOTH filters - from his other post 28-07-2002
use the <--- start|begin|..... to get the quickie easy ones, which are then skipped by the heavy duty killer (this current one). Missed ads are killed bythe HD killer filter (hey, my names here, not really a heavy dity..).

Guys, this entire subject is really interesting, thanks for the new ideas!!

(side track here - is the second filter in this new ad killer (the filter that records slip-through ads pairs) supposed to record the full comment name?

On mine it just records the comment name up to the first space -
"start reget blaster ad" is recorded as "... ... reget .." (ad is made up, and the ... represents stuff the filter adds itself in the filter code))

This is a cool filter - it missed some like

begin PROMOS & ADS and
begin txtad

Also, cpu use is high - 58% as opposed to 12% for the standard paired ad catcher.. must be all those wild cards..
