I did a quick search for "AOL proxy" and found this.

How do I get proxy access if I use AOL?
The AOL browser does not allow proxy access. However, you may choose to run Netscape, Internet Explorer, or other browsers while you are connected to the Internet via AOL (just keep AOL running, then start your browser of choice in a separate window). If you do this, follow the configuration instructions for your browser.
