McAfee VirusScan Online
« on: January 30, 2002, 02:58:58 PM »
I am running VirusScan Online, which needs to open a browser window and, I suspect, use JavaScript to check for file updates on a daily basis. With the default filter set turned on, VirusScan thinks I'm running an old version of Netscape, when in fact I'm running IE6.0. Consequently it won't allow the update to proceed. Before I spend a lot of time under the hood, does anyone have a good idea where I should start?

Thanks in advance,
DaveN

It sounds like you are using a User Agent header filter. In the main Proxomitron window, open 'Headers', and there, deselect any User-Agent: filters.

By the way, the site requires MSIE because that is the only browser with ActiveX, the technology this site uses. Perhaps you could ask them to switch to Sun's Java, that way all browsers can be used.
