Jor's default config (Opera)
« on: November 08, 2001, 06:49:26 PM »
This is an old version. Please see This Thread for the new version.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Following Arne's lead, I've decided to post my full configuration settings here.
My set is mostly for use with Opera 5.12, but also works with Mozilla.95 and MSIE6/XP.

The main config is named Jor's default.cfg, and all blocklists have been prefixed with J_ so they will not overwrite any existing files.

I have edited the files to take out any confidential info, but left the filters and blocklists mainly intact. In essence, this is the set I browse with.

Like Arne, my aim is not to put in as many filters as I can, but instead, to achieve the optimum effect with as little filters as possible. For this reason, development versions of filters by myself or others have not been included, nor have filters I seldom use.

Just completed writing / assembling a new version -- I completely started from scratch, basing my filters a lot on the filters and blockfiles posted here.

I managed to cut my config in more than half, and browsing speed has increased a lot. Also, I believe I have stripped out all redundant files and filters.

Again, this filter set is only tested on Opera6 -- but it will probably work with lesser browsers like MSIE. A hint: use prox.css as your Opera user stylesheet, and leave this enabled in document mode as well... this takes care of the Prox styling.

All in all I'm very pleased with this filter set.

The config is now named jor_v2.cfg (I also like to keep an old copy around always, hence the v2), and the blocklists are still prefixed with j_.

Hi,

I loaded your cfg into Prox and fired up my Opera. I tested it a while, and it works realy good . So now I have my own cfg when using IE and yours when using Opera. Thanks!
