Multiproxy
« on: November 29, 2001, 07:32:54 PM »
Hi folks,

I will share with you what I have been doing the last couple of days. I downloaded the program MultiProx v.1.2a the other day. HERE and chained it with Proxomitron. There are a few steps one should make in order to get this to work.

I did this because I was tired of checking if my long list of proxies work or not. So I emptied Proxomitrons list of proxies and put them in a text file which I imported to MultiProxy after dismissing all those it came with by default. Then I set Proxomitron to use one proxy 127.0.0.1 port 8088 and set Multiproxy to use Allow connections from.. only = 127.0.0.1 and to Accept connections on port 8088 and Connect via anonymous proxies only. This works as a charm And I don't have to bother thinking about this subject so much.

Best wishes

Dear Arne,
I have set proxomitron up so that it starts at boot-up, and I have a program that automatically starts Multiproxy when I connect to the web. It's called "after-connect" and there is another one called "Netlauncher" They and other free software utilities can can be found at www.webattack.com . However, I have a question about using the Multiproxy program, though. In order for Multiproxy to check the proxie's anonymity  factor, the test data has to go up to the proxies, through the proxies and then return back to my computer on port 8081 with the Multiproxy program. With my fire-wall up, it blocks the return test data and so the anonymity factor is not known, and everytime my ISP detects any kind of test-data signal, they scan my computer. So here is my question, " Is there any way that I can allow the return Multi-proxy test-data in, without letting my ISP in also?" I like the idea of stacking programs like that. Thanks for all the help and the info. I really appreciate you and this wonderful FORUM that you have allowed me to be part of! KUDOS from JakBeNymble to all the PROXOMITRON-ITES on the FORUM. Have a Wonderful and Blessed day my Friends.

Hi there my friend!

I have it set up to Test all servers on startup and I have checked Don't check for anonymity at all. Then it checks everything when I start it, and rules out those not anonymous at that stage, and does not bother for the rest of the session unless I manually start it again. So far it has done the job correct, I have been manually checking it's results and I have had no trouble. I would have thought that checking the Don't check for anonymity at all would give me some trouble, but not at all. I just manuall check every now and then if it is important to me, which it seldom actually is. I just like it this way.

That's an interesting combination.  Have you made your remote proxy list available for download?  I want to try this out too.

No, I have not made it public, and I am not planning on it either, I am sorry to say. However I will mail it to friends on request and ask them not to make it public. My list is on it's way to you by mail.
