Downloading files thru ftp in IE6
« on: April 22, 2002, 01:54:51 AM »
For some reason I can never download a file using IE6 if it is of the form (for example) ftp://ftp.eztimesoftware.com/auctionsubmit.exe

I did not have this problem before installing proxo... and I don't have trouble d/l'ing files with IE6 if http.

Check your IE connection settings and see if you configured IE to use a proxy for ftp connections.

Hi!

Normally you don't want to even send FTP through Proxomitron.  First make sure that in IE's advanced proxy settings you don't have FTP pointing to "localhost" - normally only HTTP (and optionally "Secure") should be set that way.  Second, make sure the "use same proxy server for all protocols" item is *not* checked. That should get FTP working again.

Hope that helps!
