No big deal alto.. Just love the set. I wish you well on the exams. Arne is absolutely correct when he said that you have your priorities in order.

new filter set released
« Reply #18 on: July 04, 2002, 12:18:34 PM »
hi all friends,
i've uploaded a new release of my filter set (2.50w, July 04, 2002, 87 kb)
http://virgolamobile.50megs.com/proxomitron.html

the main change is in the keyword list,
modified after a pm exchange with paul rupe,
that makes filtering faster.

other changes are:

- removed 2 duped filters after tweaks to "Banner Blaster"
- added these new filters:

Name = "Hotmail Nosey Scripts Killer [vm]"
Name = "Hide Browser's Properties from JS [vm]"
Name = "Prevent JS to read your IP from applets [vm]"

- added new adservers to adlists and removed some duped entryes
- some tweaks here and there

if you use my filter set update it to current release.

regards,
altosax.

I cannot download any of your files.  I tried a few download folders and each time it tells me that your resources aren't available.  Could somebody please email them to me or at least provide a working HTML download link?  Thank you.

i'm planning to move my site on a different server because many user notify me various kind of problems.
to download a file try these:
1. bypass proxomitron and reload the page;
2. if use getright or a different download manager, bypass it;
3. right click and choose "save file as";
4. right click + shift pressed at the same time, then choose "save file as".

probably you will need only the step one, but just in case i've listed all possibilities. otherwise i'll send you it, but, please, try to download it first.

regards,
altosax.

i had to distribute a new release of my filter set to solve recent hotmail login problem due to the changes in the login verification url. the new release size is 75 kb, and it is placed on my usual proxo page.
i think, also, could be interesting the addition of a filter quick reference.

btw, here is the changelog:

[release 2002.07.18]

- Released mainly to allow Hotmail login, after some changes in the Hotmail URLs

- New header filter added
  - Key = "Location: Hotmail Login relocator [vm] (In)" (replaces "Hotmail Login")

- New web filters added
  - Name = "Pseudo Comments-surrounded Ads Jumper [vm]"
  - Name = "Nuke JS Evil Tricks [sidki, vm]"

- Modified header filters
  - Key = "Accept-encoding: Allow webpage encoding (Out)" (turned it to FALSE)

- Modified web filters
  - Name = "[EAH] Remove CGI banners - 1.2" (turned it to FALSE)
  - Name = "Disable JavaScript cookies" (turned it to FALSE due to "Kill Nosey Javascripts")

- Removed web filters
  - Name = "Hotmail Login" (replaced by a new and faster header filter)

- Modified Lists in the Lists folder
  - Updated "AdDomainList.txt", "AdHostList.txt", "AdComments.txt", "Bypass List.txt"

- Modified the file "htmlhotmail.htm" with the new Hotmail's login verification URLs

- Added the file "filters_quick_reference.txt" in the vm_readme folder to explain how each filter works.

altosax.

Hi Altosax

I was about to re-reply to you in the other thread that I had spoken too soon, & regardless of the new Hotmail header filter you gave me (which is now in your new set) it's still not functioning.  I then noticed the announcement of your upgraded filter set & that you specifically addressed that issue after we last spoke.

Have you tried to log into Hotmail lately?  I tried with your new cfg but it still does not eliminate the default hotmail login page, which is where one is led to after signing in at hotmail.htm.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Thx

J

hi mapsonx,
the new hotmail header filter is fully functioning. type www.hotmail.com in your location bar, press enter and it will switch you to the local page: this means it is functioning!

these instead are the new hotmail problems.
the new login verification url for hotmail is now:

loginnet.passport.com

that require to be bypassed, so i've added it to the bypass blocklist.
the new action for the login form is:

https://loginnet.passport.com/ppsecure/post.srf

and i've updated the hotmail.htm local file with this url.

also you need to accept cookie from hotmail, and NEED TO STORE them on your disk. if you delete the hotmail cookie after the hotmail session, it always will deny access the next time, so when you clear your cookies you have to preserve the hotmail one and all will work.

i hate this new hotmail politic but, otoh, they offer a service, we can only accept or refuse it.

regards,
altosax.

I have de-activated all 5 cookie related  filters.  I have passport & hotmail cookies stored on my disk.  As you said, both the Bypass & Allow Cookies files have the necessary entires.  Cookies enabled in Internet Options.

Before, after logging in at hotmail.htm, I am was taken to the default hotmail login page.  Now, I am taken to:

http://lc3.law5.hotmail.passport.com/cgi-bin/login?_lang=EN&lc=1033&fs=1&ct=1027137063&tw=1296000&id=2&kv=0&rru=%2fcgi%2dbin%2fhmhome&reason=nohotmailcookies

which is the .net passport "Please re-enter your password" page--every time.  I enter the exact same password I previously entered, & I am taken to my account.

Is there anything else I might try?

Rgds

J

the same here,
seems that hotmail has really changed its verification check.
the page you are talking about set a cookie with the content "BrowserTest=Success%3f". the expire date of this cookie is a date in the past so every time you close the session it expire. this means that the next time you need to receive again this cookie: this is the reason because the access is denied the first time but allowed the second.
now i'm trying to fake that cookie, sending it at the first attemp to avoid double login. at this time various filter i've created failed. when a working filter will be available i'll post it on this forum.

in the meantime, i suggest you to disable the header filter "hotmail login relocator" accessing hotmail directly from web.

regards,
altosax.

still no way to access hotmail from a local page. in the meantime i access hotmail from the web interface and use this filter to clear trash code:

Name = "Hotmail Login Page Cleaner [vm]"
Active = TRUE
URL = "[^/]++hotmail.passport.com/cgi-bin/login"
Limit = 1024
Match = "<table cellpadding=$AV(1) cellspacing=$AV(0) border=$AV(0)>*</table>|"
        "<as*</a>"

if you use my filter set, turn to false the header filter "hotmail login relocator". if you aren't using my filter set add to your bypass list the line:

loginnet.passport.com

that's all,
altosax.
