Site Specific Proxy Rotation!
« on: June 09, 2002, 02:48:58 AM »
Hi "Proxo-Friends",
                   As I am learning by the FORUM Posts, Remote Proxies are being used "Only" for certain sites and not for all sites. There are a couple of different ways that this can be accomplished.
By, . . .
(1). By just 'ticking' the Proxo "Use Remote Proxy" box before surfing to the certain site.

(2). By taking one of the Proxies from the list and building the "Set-Proxy" Filter. http://asp.flaaten.dk/pforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=567

However both of these ways have draw-backs. The first way You have to stop, tick the box and then surf to the site. (It costs you time to stop & "Tick")

Or With the "Set-Proxy" Filter, You have to include a the proxies address and Port Number in the Replacement text of the Filter. But what if the Proxy is having a "Bad Day" or it just Ups and Dies on You??? You have to stop, take another Proxy out of the list, (hopefully alive fast one), edit the Filter, enable the Filter and then Resume surfing![:(!)]. Or Diable the the Filter, and tick the Use Remote Proxy box again! By now You might be thinking, "Is this Page really worth it???!!!

Well I think I found a better way that might save You some time and heart-ache!
How about if You Surf without a Proxy for "speed's sake", and then when surf to certain sites Proxo would not only automatically use a Remote 'PROXY'for the connection, but Would ROTATE ALL THE PROXIES IN YOUR LIST FOR YOU while You where on those sites? Now that means that while You were surfing on those sites, that Your IP was Automatically Changed to, oh let's say every 3rd or 4th page?? Or how ever fast You wanted it to?? If that sounds like something that would interest You Read on.

Here's How:

Instead of making a "Set-Proxy Filter", let's make a "USE-PROXY" FILTER!

--------Start Filter--------
KEY="URL:"Use Proxy Rotation for Connections":(Out)"
URL="$LST(UseProxy)"
REPLACEMENT="$USEPROXY(True)"
--------End Filter---------

Now even with the "Use Remote Proxy" 'Un-ticked', when You surf to a site that has been entered into Your "UseProxy" list, This Filter Will "OVER-RIDE" the Un-Ticked box and "WILL" enable the Proxy that You have choosen from Your List. Now that sounds just like the SET-PROXY FILTER doesn't it. Well, Yes, . . .but now there is one more thing that needs to be set.

(1). Click on the "PROXY" button on Proxo's Main Dialog box>Now Right Click on the Proxy's address>and choose "ADVANCE SETTINGS">Now Tick the Boxes to set Proxo for Proxy Rotation. I have mine set like this.

Tick the "Rotate Proxy" box, and I have mine set for every 15 connections. (That's aprox. every other page, depending on the page) Tick the "Random Rotation" box, and open log window for proxy test. Click Ok, and again Ok on the next box, and be sure to save Your Changes by Clicking on the Green Left-hand Floppy Disk at the top of the Proxo's Main Dialog box. Of course You will need to make the list and set the path for it. Then enable the Filter, and You should be all set!

Now You can surf without a Proxy to slow You down, but when You surf to any site that is listed in the "UseProxy" list, Proxo will automatically make the connection through a Proxy in Your Proxy list and will rotate them every 300 connections. You can set the rotation to what ever speed of rotation You want.  15 just works good for me. And of course all You have to do to use Proxy Rotation to All Sites, all it takes is 'ticking' the "Use Remote Proxy" box and the rotation is already set!

I hope that You have a Wonderful & Delightful Week-end,
'jak'

Site Specific Proxy Rotation!

Hi "Proxo-Users",
                 I thought I would mention it, that You can use this arrangement to do just the opposite also. That is to normally Surf with Proxy rotation, and not use a proxy at all on a specific site or sites. Just 'tick' the "Use Remote Proxy" and change the replacement Text from $USEPROXY(True) to $USEPROXY(False). Now when You surf to a Site that You have entered in the List, You will connect Directly and NO PROXY or ROTATION will be used!
Have a Great & Wonderful Day, Proxo-Users!
