Hello "Proxo-Users",

I found this great little program that You might be interested in. It's called "NetStat Live" and I think that it works really well, doesn't use hardly any resources and has a "killer GUI display". Here is something of what it does.

Have you ever wondered just how fast your network connection is? Not just how fast the modem is connected at, but how much data you can actually get? Does your internet connection sometimes seem slower than normal? Forget hacking the registry or using counter-intuitive tools to get the information you want - enter the world of AnalogX NetStat Live (NSL)! NSL is a small, easy to use TCP/IP protocol monitor which can be used to see your exact throughput on both incoming and outgoing data - whether you're using a modem, cable modem, DSL, or even local network! NSL doesn't just stop there, it lets you see how quickly your data goes from your computer to another computer on the internet; it even will tell you how many other computers your data must go through to get there! But wait - there's more! NSL also graphs your CPU usage of your system! This can be especially useful in identifying if your computer is what's slowing things down, or if it's your internet connection.
Here is the link where You can find more information about and download it if You wish to try it out--It's Free!

Have a Great Evening,
"Jak"

Thanks Jak!
When I used to use WinME, there was a handly little app called system monitor, or 'sysmon', which could be calibrated to show the bytes sent/received per second (as well as any number of other system resources). It made a little graph which would sit at the bottom of my screen, between the taskbar and my open programs, and i could watch to see what my throughput was like. Trying to run 'sysmon' from the run menu in WinXP Pro or 2k gives an error though :( The only dissapointment for me when I upgraded. Here is a little example of what iut would look like, though there is no data transfer in the picture so you can't see any graph stats:

I will check out NSL, see if it offers what i've been missing

Hi "Proxo-Users",

I hope that everyone is having a Safe and Enjoyable time on the Net! I thought I would post a few of these programs I have been trying out, and of course if You've run into a couple of "Keepers", You might think about posting them here also if You wish. I beta test alot of programs and when I find one that I think You might like to check out I always like to share.

I have mentioned this one before in connection with another program, but just in case that You didn't see the post I will list it again. Have You ever downloaded a "trial version" of a program but didn't have time to test it out throughly to see if You wanted to keep it or not? This program will allow You to re-set the time line in the program so that You can test it when You have the time. It is what the name suggests that it does. It's called "Never-Expire". http://home.netvigator.com/~yxngzhng/Enexpire.html
See this post if the above link doesn't work. It's my second post on that page. http://asp.flaaten.dk/pforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=543. Of course the author says that it's not to be use to keep from purchasing or registering Trial versions of programs.=;-)

Here is a real nice program that I've just downloaded and check my system out with to see if some "un-registered Server" is hiding in my registry or some downloaded program and is doing an "E.T" and "Phoning Home" everytime I connect to the Net. It of course is a "trial version" and runs out in about 20 days. It's called "CommView". And I think it is an excellent and easy to use for someone who has never used a "sniffer" before! Here is the link where You can see the screenshot and the HomePage where You download it and Check it out. http://www.all-nettools.com/privacy/sec.htm

The next is the New beta version of the browser "K-meleon". JD5000 suggested that I try it out. The first time I tried to run it, it caused a conflict with another program that I was using so I just Un-installed it. I have just recently did a clean sweep and Install to my system. I re-installed the K-meleon browser and didn't have any problems. I like it very much. It doesn't have all the "bells & Whistles" like some of the other browsers, but it does have a Wonderful feature that I guess it got it's name from. You can add any "User-Agent String" that You like to it! And that feature works very well I might ADD! It comes in very handy on sites that You might have to By-Pass Proxo on. It also will Import all Your Favorites from I.E and all the BookMarks from NetScape. You can set it up to where the task bar either looks like I.E. or Netscape or a combination of the two. Here is the link, http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/

Well that's about all I have for now. Take Care and Have a Great & Wonderful Day!
Best Wishes,
"Jak"

Sorry, I had to keep coming back and check the links for Never-expire. They all where dead links or would link to a different page! I think that the little proggy is slowly "disappearing" from the Net! Any body what to guess why???lol!

If it has an icon of two little eyes and something resembling a smile, than you are talking about MonSys perhaps, a PCMagazine utility, runs only on 9x based machines and was supposed to be for 9x machines what PerfMon is on NT
can show a whole slew of info from the dynamic performance registry keys.

Graph could be set as either pie, bar or line...

Get it here

but, as I said, only on 9x machines

Hi,
That sounds like a similar utility, but I was 99% sure that 'sysmon' was a part of windows, and is installed with windows (because i've found it on every winME/98 machine i've used). I think any windows user can type 'sysmon' in the RUN command prompt and they'll either get the sysmon utility or an error when using NT. I do miss it's background realtime graphing... it used very few system resources and was stable too! - Maybe it doesn't come with windows after all...

Hi "Proxo-Friends",

Here is where You can download "fkWare SysMon 1.22 for Windows 9x and Windows NT/2000". I've used the default Sysmon to set-swap files, monitor memory, and CPU usage. I haven't used the this one, but I thought it looked worth checking out. Here is the link: http://www.fkware.com/sysmon/

Hi "Friends",

Here are a couple of programs that I tried out a year or so ago. One is called stealthier, and the other is called Free-bird.

(1).Stealthier is a program that is very similar to Multi-proxy, with the exceptions that it uses alot less resources and it changes remote proxies on the fly. And it has a fresh proxy data base just about everytime You fire it up. However, I stopped using it when one night I was on the Net "Flying to the greatest of ease" surfing through the thing and feeling the High that You get when You think You are "untouchable",(You what I talkin' about), when all at once I came to a Dead-stop! And the message on the Screen said, "Sorry we can't process Your Request, You are on the INTERNET POLICE CACHE PROXY! Needless to say that was the last time that little proggy ever had any life on My Machine.

(2). Free-bird is a proggy that will allow You internet access to anything and everything on the Net, even if You live in a place that has You Proxied OUT! But You have to "Fish" for a Node with it to hop on. I works pretty well, but it can be a pain trying to find a Node. (Where is a NODE when You really need one?)

Well I just wanted to stop by and check to see if any other Proxo fans were leaving any proggies, links, or had a story or Night-mare to share about a certain program that they would recommend or Warn about using.
Here is where You can download, and/or check out these and other programs.  http://www.photono-software.de/
I will say this in the behalf of the authors, they had excellent e-mail support. I have sent e-mails to their help site, and in about 5 to 15 minutes had a response!

Take Care and Have a Wonderful & Delightful Day,
Best Wishes & Safe-Surfin'
"Jak"

Hi "Proxomitronic-Friends",

Here is a great little proggy that I have used for a very long time. It's works great and if You are an I.E. browser user I think You will like it too. It's called "Script-Sentry". Script-Sentry can be configured to Catch Malious Code and Scripts that someone maybe trying to run on Your machine. It will catch it, won't let it run, and put it in an quaranteened environment where You can actually run the script without it do anything to Your machine! Now I haven't tried to run anything that it caught, so I don't know how well that part of it works, besides don't think that I would want to do anything but delete the "little-Nasty" thing with a Military-grade Scrubber/Wiper into Cyber-Oblivion. "It better to be safe, than Sorry".

So if You use I.E., You can leave Your Active-X enabled and let Script-Sentry run in the back-ground. It doesn't use hardly any resoures, which is the second thing I look for in a good proggy, and now for the best part! It's FREE for the Downloading! No Trial-Version! The third best thing to look for in a Proggy!Of course the First thing is, How well the Program works. I can safely say that to this date, I haven't had one problem with malious codes! Here is the link for Your inspection on this one, I think it's a "Keeper"!

Hi Proxo-Friends,
I been having a ball sending Fake e-mails to some of my buddies with this little proggie. It's called "GHOST MAIL". You can send e-mails and be anybody that You want to be, and have the reply send back to Your e-mail box.

You can also add extra Header, write a "Fake User X-mailer" header! It comes with about 3 default POP3 servers, and a default Remailer! However, I could get but one of the POP servers to work, and sometimes the re-mailer won't accept the bogus e-mail addy because it can't re-solve the domain. You can also send Attachments! I have written some Fake *Extra Headers* and a fake X-Mailer Header which I will up-load here when I get access to my home machine, just in case You might want to take a look at them.[Of course You know I added a *Fake* Anonymous Nym-remailer-Server to the String]

It's very quickly dissappearing from every download site, so You might want to get a copy before it's gone. But I have a copy if anyone can't find it.
I might also mention that it will hold about five or six e-mail addys before the next entry deletes the oldest one, so You might want to copy the information before You add to many and lose some of the defaults POP servers! I did a search to find some free POP servers and kept adding them and lost one or two of the defaults. So I deleted it and tried re-installing it, but it remembered the last settings that I had. I had to wait until I installed it for a friend before I could get the defaults.
Here is the only link I could find today for "gm5.1.zip", it's Item number 325 on the FTP list. http://sac-ftp.externet.hu/comm7.html

Take Care and Have Fun, but be safe, it's illegal to send unsolicitated mail! especially if it "appears" to be coming from a certain [[email protected]] Also Your IP still does show through even if You use the default re-mailer!

Have Just the Greatest Day Ever,
"[email protected]"

hi jak,
i've used a lot ghost mail in the past and i know it is well known in the underground, so i did a search on google with the name of the zip file and i've found 112 occurrences, not all verified but probably most of them work. this is the search i did:

http://www.google.com/search?q=gm51.zip&num=50

also i did a search with gm51.exe and found 4 results. finally, this ftp search:

http://www.ftpfind.com/search.php?query=gm51.zip&method=iss

only return 9 results.

regards,
altosax.

<edit>: i've just tryed an archie search but, with my great disappoint, i've discovered that archie servers are not working anymore. so we have to consider the archie service as defunct
fwiw, this is the archie i was using:

Hi "Proxo-Friends",

Thanks for the LINKS! I am glad there are still some places that You can find Ghost mail. There was another Version that I found, but the link was dead. I think it was Ghost-Mail6.10. Here is the small zip.file that I'm using in the *Extra Headers* and a Fake *X-Mailer* header. Just "copy & Paste" the values just the way they are in the appropriate box. I had to send my-self several mails in order to "stagger" the values so they looked right when I checked the "Full Headers" in the e-mail. Change anything in them that You wish. Also if You have other added headers I would really like to get a copy of them also. I would greatly like to know if You have a list of POP/SMTP Servers that would hide Your IP when You send Fake E-mails. And if there is anything that I could change in the Headers that I've written to make them better and more convincing, please let me know!

Have a Great Day My Friends,

HI Friends,

Thanks for the Link ALTOSAX! I was wondering why that Hotmail was giving a "Spam Bug" alert when I sent mail to People who have Hotmail accounts with Ghost Mail. Now I know! I have also been using "Mail Washer" that does the samething as "Albert's Bounce-Mail" program. Mail Washer works for e-mail Client programs. You can read the E-mails while they are still on the e-mail server, and delete them without even downloading them on to Your machine. But the feature that I like best of all, is that You can automatically "bounce" the SPAM back to the SPAMMER with an error message that say mail can not be delivered and there is no such e-mail addy!LOL!  Here is where You can find "Mail Washer".

http://www.mailwasher.net/download.php

Take Care and Thanks again for the Links!
Have a Great & Delightful Day,

Hi Proxo-Friends,

Here is an e-mail client program that says it has it's own built-in SMTP server, and it has a Hotmail proxy access to get Your Web-Based Hotmail by POP3! I haven't tried it out Yet, but here is the link, and as soon as I get home, I'm a'firin' up the "Ye Ole Downloader" and try this Gentle-man out!http://fox.foxmail.com.cn/english.htm
"Jak"

---------------------------------------
Dear Friends,
I wanted to come back and inform You that The Hotmail Proxy is a "local Proxy" that runs on Your own machine! It's not a Remote proxy out on the Net that You might be a little cautious of gathering You pass-words. And this e-mail program does just like it says it does. It does have an "Express Feature where You can by-pass our Wonderful ISP's SMTP server and mail directly to the address. However, have You enter Your Wonderful ISP's DNS servers before that feature will work!

The only thing that get's my goat now, it that Yahoo started a'chargin' for POP3/SMTP e-mail.

Nice e-mail program with nice inter-face!
Have a Great Week-end My Proxomitronic-Friends~
