I have to disagree with pcooper here: I have used various pop-up killers (programs that sit in your tray usually, and 'prevent' pop-ups - although, usually what happens is the pop-ups open and the titlebar is checked and if it is on the 'blocked' list of the program, the window is then closed - but this causes a 'flashing' effect as various windows open and are closed *almost* immediatly, and often causes you to check your desktop to see what just crashed

)
Anyway, my point is it is *far* better to have Proxo block pop-ups than any dedicated pop-up killing program:
a)Having another program running uses system resources
b)Those 'pop-up flashes then closing' moments are annoying
c)Proxo 'blasts' the pop-ups at the source level, meaning your browser doesnt have to waste time in opening a new window (and then more time as your pop-up-killing program closes it again).
Howard, if you turn the pop-up filter 'ON' in your default filter set that came with Proxo, it *won't* (doesn't for me) kill pop-ups that you initiate yourself (ie clicking a link). I hope this helps.
