Imici
« on: August 13, 2001, 10:24:44 PM »
I am testing out this new agent, Imici, which replaces AIM, YAHOO, ICQ, MSN, - all in one. Seems OK so far. http://www.imici.com/

Also I have connected my firewall to http://www.mynetwatchman.com/ which also seems like a OK option. It uploads my log as soon as an attack is rejected, places them in the database there and sends emails to the ISP's as soon as a few other users also are attacked by the same IP. Works like a charm.

Wow Arne you have been busy. That is a very nice link to Imici. I just created and account but was unable to download. I am waiting for support to respond.
I will probably be using Zonelog Analyser once I take the time to download. It has the same features as far as sending out letters to IPs. I do have an ICQ account as well as AIM, but I don't use ICQ anymore and don't have it installed on this OS. It would be interesting to see if I am able to find out if my old account is still activated... Well, I guess I shall just wait and see.

Regards,

I have been using another program for a while that seems to be even more powerful than Imici, Trillian. http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/

This is also the first IM that allows me to use ICQ behind my firewall... Imici doesn't seem to work.

I had a look at Trillian. It is good. It also has IRC and is able to connect to the chatroom I have on IRCLink - the one that is connected to when clicking on the "Chat" link on the menu bar here. The name of the room is #Foreldre.

Yes Zhen I agree so many choices.. That Darn Arne...Lol
I no sooner get Imici in order and well adapted to it, and then he
springs Trillian on me...Imagine the nerve?

Unfortunately there is a bug in Trillian for W2K users that will be fixed in the next version, so I shall have to wait until then.

Happy chatting with yourself Arne....
